Jeffcom is a newly consolidated communications center serving as the lifeline between emergency services and the community in Jefferson County. Jeffcom works with local fire, police and emergency medical service providers to dispatch the appropriate emergency responders, as well as to provide support for public safety education.

Interested in joining our team? The ideal candidate would be one that has customer service and multi-tasking skills. They should be flexible and willing to work shift work. Familiarity with Law, Fire, Medical as well as Public Safety experience in general is preferred. All applicants must have a high school diploma or GED certificate. Jeffcom911 provides candidates with a comprehensive training academy for Emergency Communications Specialists.

Lateral applicants are strongly encouraged to apply. Lateral applicants will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in emergency dispatch services (Police, Fire, or EMS). Lateral hires will be eligible for a $1500 sign-on bonus and additional $1500 upon completion of training.

All other candidates will be eligible for a $500 sign-on bonus and an additional $500 upon completion of training.
